The characteristic features of the Scandinavian style are functionality, warm colors, which have a positive effect on the well-being, and above all bright open spaces. Lighting plays an important role – even if there is insufficient access to natural light, it is provided by suitably friendly artificial lighting.
The Scandinavian interior is also practical – nothing is placed here by chance, everything is justified. Perfectly planned zones ensure comfort of work in various conditions – from team meetings, (high tables) to places for work in focus (focus rooms).
The "hygge" philosophy is applied here, which means the art of creating warm, friendly atmosphere around you. Simple, seemingly not complicated design, natural fabrics, earth colors – beige, brown, gray, perfectly blend with pastels, such as pink or blue, evoking colors of the sky. Scandinavian-style decorated offices, in accordance with the "hygge” philosophy, are warm and cozy, dominated by soft and natural fabrics – cotton, wool felt, expressive weaves and accessories such as cushions, poufs and blankets.
In the Scandinavian-style decorated office, great emphasis is placed on a comfortable workplace. Classic open spaces, where desks are arranged in rows, give way to stands separated from each other by orga towers or acoustic walls.
Height-adjustable desks and chairs with fabric backrests are an absolute "must have". The design of furniture is dominated by natural colors and materials, such as wood. There is also metal, e.g. in the bases of chairs or tables, however, it is usually painted in black or white; here there is no place for shiny chrome. Monochromatic color blends are also increasingly used.
The combination of subtle, harmonious beauty and functionality creates an atmosphere that exerts a positive effect on the well-being, which is conducive to both work and rest. All this makes that the Scandinavian style, although fashionable and widely used in interior design for the past several years, is still one of the dominant trends, also in office spaces arrangements.
